Spring Trip to The District (as the locals call it)

Here are some pictures from my recent trip to DC. It was a memorable trip. It was the first time I've been there with the cherry blossoms out almost in full force. I went to a going away party for a friend that is going to permenantly leave the country and not even for political reasons. Then I paid $60 to play a round of golf along the Potomac in freezing cold temperatures. Then I had to drive home from Gettysburg with my window down because it got stuck. And surprisingly the round of golf was colder than the drive, even with temperatures in the 40s most of the drive. If you look closely at the picture of the bench you will see that it is sitting in several inches of water because the Tidal Basin is flooded several feet beyond its banks. It was a great time of year to drive out there and I would encourage you to do it someday if you have the chance. Plus it is usually a good 10 degrees warmer there in April than in Chicago.

Nice pictures, Jonathan. It looks like that woman Kimberly moved to Ireland. So does this mean I can have you all to myself with no cat fights?

You’re such a big flirt, Jonathan. When I read that you were homeless I wanted to take you in like a little stray kitten. Now that I know you have commitment issues, I realize that my heart might have been broken by you…that you might be nothing more than an alley cat who wanders the neighborhood looking to score. Tell me I’m wrong, tell me it isn’t true.
